MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS
March 8, 1951
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in regular session on
Thursday, March 8, 1951 at 7130 p. m. in the Council Room of the Baytown City Hall
with the following members in attendances
C. Darwin Middleton City Manager
George Chandler City Attorney
Edna Oliver City Clerk
Absent: Milton L. Campbell Councilman
W. D. Beeves Councilman
W. C. Williams Councilman
The Mayor called the meeting to order, and the minutes of the regular meet-
ing of Fbbruary 22, 1951 and the special meeting of Fbbruary 27, 1951 were read
and approved, whereupon the following business was transacted:
Final Approval - Hill Terrace, Section No. 2
Mr. Murry D. Kennedy presented a plat of Hill Terrace, Section 2 for final
approval. Councilman Bergeron moved to give final approval. Councilman Pruett
seconded the motion. The roll call vo to was as follows:
Roll Call: Ayedt Mayor Ward Nayss None

0. L. Reeser - Drilling Applications
Councilman Pruett moved to approve the G. L. Reeser drilling applications
on the Goose Creek Independent School District, Well No. 3 and the W. L. Jones
at al, Well No, 1. Councilman Buelow seconded the motion. The roll call vote was
as follows:
Roll Calls Ayes: Mayor Ward Nayss None

City Manager Middleton was instructed to contact Bill Dalpes, Local
Contractor, regarding his contract to install a send trap at Hidainbotham Motor
Company. It was necessary for this installatldn be completed in order to alleviate
the drainage problem on Cypress Street.
Mayor Ward appointed a committee composed of Councilmen Pruett, Buelow
and Bergeron to make an investigation on the loss of pressure due to friction
in fire hose and the maximum footaget, be used for efficiency. These recommendations
will be included in the amended subdivision ordinance.
Spokesmen for the Baytown PolunteeroFYremen Emergency Corp asked the council
to reconsider its negative decision regarding the purchase of radio equipment for
the Emergency Truck. The Mayor informed the group that the council could not
spend the city's funds on.equipment not owned by the city, however, if the Corp
would be willing to enter into a lease- contract with the city the council would
agree to consider such a purchase.

Councilman Buelow moved to adjourn. Councilman Bergeron seconded the motion.
The ayes were unanimous and the Nayor declared the meeting adjourned.
