The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, met in regular session on
Thursday, February 81 1951 at 700 P. m. in the Council Room of the Baytown City

Each representative was given five (5) minutes to present the merits of his product.
Councilman Reeves moved to purchase one thousand (1,0001) feet of "Wonder" 2.2 inch
hose from the Bi- Laterial Company at $1.62 per foot; one thousand (1,0001) feet of
2z-11 "Beacon" Hose from American- LaFrance Company at $1.65 per foot; three hundred
(3001) of 1ilw tt "Wonder" hose from the Bi- Laterial Company at $1.14 per foot and
three hundred-(300') of the 12'" Beacon" hose from the American- LaFrance Company
at $1.10 per foot.. Councilman-Campbell seconded the motion. The roll call vote
was as follows:

Radio Equipment Bids - Continued
Each representative was given five (5) minutes to present the merits of his
product, afterwhich, Councilman Pruett moved to table all bids at this time and
instruct D. D. Jones, Police Radio Operator, to analize all bids and make recom-
mendations on two (2) bids. Councilman Bergeron seconded the motion. The roll
call vote•was as follows:

The Council agreed to meet in a special meeting Friday, February 9, 1951
to consider the bids.
Taxi Cab Rates
The proposed taxi cab rates changes were discussed. Councilman Williams
moved to table further action on the taxi cab rates for the.next 30 days.
Councilman Campbell secunded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows:

Jack Adcox- Truck Route
.Jack Adcox asked the Council to consider an ordinance which would prevent the
parking of Butane trucks within the City limits. He also asked the Council
to consider re- routing transport trucks with/the city and restrict parking in
crowded sections. The council.agreed.to restrict parking on congested streets
and the City Attorney was instructed.to prepare an ordinance regulating trucks
transporting inflammables within the_City of Baytown and to regulate the parking
of same.
Water Connection Denied - Truman Cox.
The Council denied water connection to a proposed building to be located
on the north side of Schillings Street in the Schilling Estate Tract. The land
had been sold by metes and bounds and the.Council.agreed that if the city allowed
this conncetion it wouid be forced to allow others the same priviledge ans this
would be a direct.violation of the city charter and the city's subdivision ordinance.
G. L. Reasor - Drilling Applications
Councilman Bergeron moved to approve the G. L. Rea
sor drilling applications
on the Fb rrest Lease, Well No. 1 and the N. L. Ai.ggs Lease, Well No. 29 pending a
arrival of the bond qnd per fee on the Forrest Lease; approved - relocation permit
on the Goose Creek I dependent School District property, Well No. 2, pending
arrival of the bond." Councilman Pruett seconded the motion. The roll call vote
was as follows:

Austin - Chandler and Middleton
The Council instructed City Manager Middleton and City Attorney Chandler
to attend a Public Hearing in Austin by the House Committee on Municipal &
Private Corporation which is set.for Tuesday, February 13, 19512 at 2s30 P. m.
in Room 3 of the House. the Hearing relates to the minimum wage for Firemen
and Policemen in all cities over 10,000 population.

Councilman Williams moved to adjourn. Councilman Pruett seconded the motion.
The ayes were unanimous and the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned.
