MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BRYTOWN, TEXAS
April 1, 1949
The city council of the city of Baytown, Texas met in special session
on April 1, 1949 at 6 ofclocl p.m. in the office of the city manager with the
following members in attendance:

Councilman
The mayor called the meeting to order. He informed the council that the
telephone company had replied favorably to the request made at the prior meet-
ing, to include Wooster in the base rate area. The city attorney introduced and
read the ordinance granting increase in telephone rates according to motion made
at the meeting of March 17, 1949. Councilman Strickland moved to adopt the
ordinance as read. Councilman Davis seconded the motion. The roll call vote
was as follows:

ORDINANCE No. 44
ANi.ORDINANCE REGULATING THE RATES OF THE SOUTHNESTERN
ASSOCIATED TELEPHONE COMPANY IN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS.
It was agreed to defer action on acceptance of the swimming pool, ap-
proval of rates andapproval of park management until the regular meeting on
April 7, 1949.
Councilman Strickland moved to aijourn. Councilman Godfrey seconded the
motion. The ayes were unanimous and the mayor declared the meeting adjourned.
