1950 04 06 CC MinutesMINUTES OF THE REGULAR METING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS April 6, 1950 The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texan met in regular session on . Thursday, April 6, 1950 at 7:30 pe m. in the Council Room of the Baytown City Hall with the following members in attendance: J. A. Ward Mayor R. B. Bergeron Councilman H. I. Davis Councilman ®shy Godfrey Councilman R. H. Pruett Councilman J. A. Stroud Councilman W. C. Williams Councilman C. Darwin Middleton City Manager David Donoghue City Attorney Edna Oliver City Clerk The Mayor called the meeting to order, and the minutes of the regular meet- ing of March 16, 1950 and the special meeting of March 309 1950 were read. Councilman Bergeron seconded the motion. Williams North Market Street Renumbered Councilman Davis moved to rescind the action of the Council taken on March 30, 1950 on the renumbering of North Market Street and to begin renumbering at the inter- section of Wisconsin and North Market with the 3500 block. Councilman Godfrey seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows: Roll Calls Ayess Mayor Ward Councilman Bergeron "Davis Pruett W. Stroud " Williams Nays: Councilman Stroud Ordinance No. 76 The City Attorney introduced and read an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 73 of the City of Baytownj. Councilman Davis moved to adopt the ordinance as read. Councilman Bergeron seconded the motion. Williams The caption of the ordinance was as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 76 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 73, BEING " AN ORDINANCE LICENSING THE DRILLING OF OIL AND GAS WELLS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYT011N, TEXAS; REGULATING THE DRILLING AND OPERATION OF SUCH WELLS WITHIN THE CITY; REPEALING © RDINANCE.:., INCONSISTENT THERMNITH; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PRESCRIBING A PENALTY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF"; THIS ORDINANCE AMENDING SAID ORDINANCE 73 BY PROVIDING FOR THE GRAFTING AND REVOCATION OF LICENSES TO DRILL OIL AND GAS WELLS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIFTS OF THE CITY BY THE CITY COUNCIL; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Dianol Incorporated The City Manager read a letter from tthe DIANOL INCORPORATED explaining their '. formula for insect control which produces a compound that contains 5% D-3, 2% 'Chlordane and 5% Lethane 384 Special when diluted with 5 parts of Diesel Oil. The price of the concentrate is $6.00 per gallon. After some discussion on the control of insects Councilman Bergeron moved to advertise for bids on a foggipg machine. Councilman Godfrey seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as follows: Roll Call: Ayes: Mayor Ward Nays: None Councilman Bergeron " Davis n Godfrey Pruett " Stroud "' Williams 4 April 6, 1950 B. F. Lane - Water Towers Mr. D. F. Lane appeared to report that the work on the water towers was com- pleted with the exception of a few minor details. The city realized a savings of approximately $200 on the ovgrall contract price on the two (2) water towers. Councilman Pruett moved to pay the bill subject tothe approval of the work by the City Manager and Superintendent of Public Works. Councilman Bergeron seconded the motion.
