MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETIjvG OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAY1'OWN, TEXAS
February 20, 1950
The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas met in a special meeting on
Monday, February 20, 1950, at 6:00 p* m, in the office of the City Manager at the
Baytown City Hall with the following members in attendance:

The Mayor called the meeting to order. He stated that the meeting was
called by the City Clerk at his request.
B. F. Lane - Water Towers Continued
Mr. B. F. Lane of the Mississippi Valley TanK Company again appeased before
the City Council in regard to his proposal to repair the Baytown and Goose Creek
water tanks. Mr. Lane's proposal was that he repair, condition anu paint both tanks
on a cost plus basis with the ceiling on cost not to exceed ;5,600, if the top sec-
tion of.the Baytown tank was to be replaced, or $4,400 if the top section was to be
repaired only. The city would have the option, aftera closer inspection, to deter-
mine whether or not this section could be replaced or repaired. After soneiderable
discussion Councilman Pruett made the motion to employ Mr. Lane to repair, recon-
dition and repaint the Baytown tank on a cost plus basis, under the supervision
of the Superintendent of Public Works, with total cost not to exceed $4,000 if it
was determined that the top section should be replaced, or, $2,800 if repairs only
were necessary to the top section. Councilman Bergeron seconded the motion. The
roll call vote was as followst

Higginbotham - Easement
The City Attorney was instructed to draw up a document for council action on
elimination of an 8t easement through property now owned by Mr. Floyd Higginbotham
at the corner of Market Street and Cypress.
Bridge - New 146 Highway
Councilman Pruett moved to approve the plane an new bridge on approach to the
Baytown Tunne3_as proposed in theState Highway Improvement Program. Councilman
Williams seconded the motion. The roll call vote was as followo:

Councilman Bergeron moved to adjourn. Councilman Pruett seconded the
motion. The ayes were unamimous and the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned.
