CC Resolution No. 2686RESOLUTION NO. 2,686 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, SELECTING THE ALTERNATIVE DELIVERY METHOD THAT WILL YIELD THE BEST VALUE TO THE CITY OF BAYTOWN FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BAYTOWN PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING PROJECT AND ASSOCIATED FACILITY SITE IMPROVEMENTS; AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AT RISK DELIVERY METHOD; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ************************************************************************************* WHEREAS, Section 2269.056 of the Texas Government Code provides that before using a construction delivery method, other than competitive bidding, the City Council must determine which method provides the best value for the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that a construction delivery method other than competitive bidding for the Baytown Public Safety Building Project and associated facility site improvements will yield a better value to the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, after considering each of the construction delivery methods, which are authorized in Chapter 2269 of the Texas Government Code, the City Council believes that the construction manager at risk method will yield the best value; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: The recitals contained in the preamble of this ordinance are true and correct and are adopted as findings of the City Council of the City of Baytown. Section 2: The City of Baytown hereby determines that the construction manager at risk delivery method will yield the best value to the City of Baytown for the construction of the Baytown Public Safety Building Project and associated facility site improvements and selects that alternative delivery method to be used for such project. Section 3: The City Council hereby authorizes the issuance of a request for competitive sealed proposals for the construction manager at risk delivery method for the Baytown Public Safety Building Project and associated facility site improvements. Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
