CC Resolution No. 1118 2012 RESOLUTION NO. 1118 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, SUPPORTING LEGISLATION TO REQUIRE A TAX PERMIT TO MOVE A MANUFACTURED HOME. **************************************************************** WHEREAS, House Bill No. 1098 has been proposed in the Texas Legislature which would require a tax permit to move a manufactured home upon a street or highway; and WHEREAS, House Bill No . 1098 requires that a tax permit may not be issued without a certificate from a taxing unit showing that there are no delinquent taxes due and payable upon such home; and WHEREAS, such legislation would assist taxing units in preventing fraud and make it more difficult for manufactured homes to escape taxation; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1 : That the City Council of the City of Baytown supports the legislation to require a tax permit to move a manufactured home. Section 2 : This Resolution shall become effective from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
