RESOLUTION
NO. 1118
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, SUPPORTING LEGISLATION TO REQUIRE A TAX PERMIT TO
MOVE A MANUFACTURED HOME.

WHEREAS, House Bill No. 1098 has been proposed in the Texas
Legislature which would require a tax permit to move a
manufactured home upon a street or highway; and
WHEREAS, House Bill No . 1098 requires that a tax permit
may not be issued without a certificate from a taxing unit
showing that there are no delinquent taxes due and payable upon
such home; and
WHEREAS, such legislation would assist taxing units in
preventing fraud and make it more difficult for manufactured
homes to escape taxation; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1 : That the City Council of the City of Baytown
supports the legislation to require a tax permit to move a
manufactured home.
Section 2 : This Resolution shall become effective from and
after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 23rd day of May,
1991.
