CC Resolution No. 1054 1881 RESOLUTION NO. 1054 A UNANIMOUS RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, COMMENDING AND THANKING MARCEINE LANHAM FOR HER MANY YEARS OF SERVICE AS WIFE TO THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS. WHEREAS, Marceine Lanham, having been married to Fritz Lanham for over forty years, has also served as the City Manager ' s wife for the City of Baytown from 1963 to 1968 and from 1972 until 1989; and WHEREAS, as wife of the City Manager, Marceine Lanham has graciously shared her husband with the many citizens and staff members that impose upon the City Manager' s time by calling him at home, during the dinner hour , and on weekends; and WHEREAS, Marceine Lanham has served as hostess in numerous open houses held at the Lanham home, and has always maintained a positive attitude for the benefit of the many guests she received; and WHEREAS, Marceine Lanham has patiently listened in confidence to Fritz's hundreds of stories concerning demanding department heads, overworked employees, and dissatisfied citizens; and WHEREAS, Marceine Lanham has been required to deal with her husband being gone for 7:00 a.m. budget sessions, council meetings that last till midnight, and countless luncheon meetings that kept him away from home; and WHEREAS, Marceine Lanham has unselfishly devoted herself to supervising Fritz 's fitness program so that he could keep in fighting form for dealing with the ceaseless problems of running the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, Marceine Lanham has had to say "Oh that smells good" literally hundreds of times in an effort to make her husband think she loves each rose he cuts; and WHEREAS, Marceine Lanham has had to doctor and sympathize with thousands of rose scratches and endure continuous complaining about black spot and spider mites; and WHEREAS, Marceine Lanham has been forced to endure organ lessons as well as Louie Lamour western novels for much of her married life; and WHEREAS, Marceine Lanham' s generosity, patience, and forebearance in dealing with the many demands made upon her husband deserves recognition; NOW THEREFORE, 1882 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: Marceine Lanham is hereby recognized and commended for her many years of service as the wife to the City Manager of the City of Baytown, Texas; and the City Council hereby expresses its appreciation for her efforts and contributions for assisting Fritz Lanham in his responsibilities as administering the City of Baytown, Texas. Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by unanimous vote of the City Council of the City of Baytown.
