STRONG, City orney C:1:29 :8 1774 September 17 , 1987 Mr. Fritz Lanham City Manager City of Baytown 2401 Market Street Baytown, TX 77521 Dear Mr. Lanham: On August 5 , 1987 , the Baytown Volunteer Fire Dept. Emergency Corps Inc . , voted to disband its membership. Reasons were that membership fell below our Charter census of 10 members , finances were low, and of an increase in vehicle insurance. It is our deepest regret to give up this service in water search and rescue for the Citizens of Baytown, but economic times has called its toll . It is the wishes of Baytown Volunteer Fire Dept. Emergency Corps to donate the 1976 Surburban and the 1980 Sportcraft boat to the City of Baytown to be used under Emergency Managment. Again it is our deepest regret for Baytown Emergency Corps to give up this service after 54 years of service to the Citizens of Baytown and to the surrounding communities . Sincerely, Michael A. Lee, President
