RESOLUTION NO. 977
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF
OLD FIRE STATION NUMBER 3 TO THE CITY OF BAYTOWN.
WHEREAS, the old Fire Station Number 3 was initially built
by the Town of Goose Creek in the year 1928 to serve as its
Municipal Building; housing both city hall and the fire station;
and
WHEREAS, the building was converted to use as a fire station
in 1948; and has been used in the past, as the administration
building for the fire department; and
WHEREAS, the building has been in continual use for 59
years ; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS :
Section 1: That old Fire Station Number 3, located at South
Main and Gulf, Baytown, Texas, is hereby declared to be
historically significant to the City of Baytown, Texas.
Section 2 : This resolution shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of
Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 12th day of March,
1987.
