RESOLUTION NO. 937
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY
OF BAYTOWN TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS CRIMINAL
JUSTICE COUNCIL FOR A GRANT TO CONTINUE THE YOUTH AND
LAW PROGRAM AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
HEREOF.

WHEREAS, the student population of the elementary, middle and high schools
and the community college in the Baytown area exceeds 16,000; and
WHEREAS, the existence of a direct liasion between the school population and
public and private programs, promotes the conveyance of information concerning
drug and alcohol treatment and rehabilitation programs, crime prevention programs,
such as a bicycle registration and theft prevention program and other programs
which impact this population; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1 : That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby
authorized to make application to the Texas Criminal Justice Council for a grant
for the continued operation of a youth and law program in the amount of
THIRTY-SEVEN THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY-EIGHT AND NO/100
($37,278.00) DOLLARS.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown, this the 9th day of January, 1986.
