RESOLUTION NO. 928
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, CONSENTING TO THE CREATION OF A RURAL
FIRE PREVENTION DISTRICT WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL
JURISDICTION OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AND PROVIDING FOR
THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.

WHEREAS, residents of the Crosby area have proposed the creation of a
Rural Fire Prevention District in their area in order to better provide fire
protection for themselves; and
WHEREAS, a portion of such proposed district lies within the extraterritorial
jurisdiction of the City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, TEX. REV. CIV. STAT. art. 2351a-6 provides that in order for a
rural fire prevention district to be created within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of
a city, the governing body of the city must give its written consent to the
inclusion of such territory, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, having considered the
request for the formation of such proposed district, has determined that the City of
Baytown has no objection to the creation of the proposed district within its
extraterritorial jurisdiction; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: The City of Baytown hereby gives its consent to the creation of a
Rural Fire Prevention District as shown in the attached map, which is marked as
Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes.
Section 2: This consent applies only to the district as proposed, and does not
extend to any extensions, additions, or annexations to the district that may be
contemplated or proposed, either presently or in the future.
Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown, this the 14th day of vember, 1985.
