CC Resolution No. 907 1640 RESOLUTION NO. 907 A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RETURNS OF THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD WITHIN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN ON THE 6TH DAY OF APRIL, 1985, FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING THREE (3) COUNCILMEN AND A MAYOR FROM THE CITY AT LARGE; DECLARING THE RESULTS OF SAID ELECTION; FINDING THAT NOTICE OF SAID ELECTION WAS DULY AND PROPERLY GIVEN AND THAT SAID ELECTION WAS PROPERLY HELD AND THE RETURNS THEREOF MADE BY THE PROPER OFFICIALS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF TEXAS. *�r�r*x*�r».*s�rrx�»■�rr�trr+z.��tr�r�r*�*�r�■».*x**x**��r�rar�■�rs*���r�r�r�r�r�-■�r*�r�r*�r�-■s■»�r�rr WHEREAS, pursuant to Article IX, Section 96 of the Charter of the City of Baytown, the City Council of said City, at a regular meeting held on the 11 th day of April, 1985, proceeded, as required by law, to canvass the returns of the Municipal Election held in the City of Baytown on the 6th day of April, 1985, for the purpose of electing three (3) Councilmen and a Mayor from the City at large; said Election having been held under and pursuant to the provisions of the Charter of said City and an ordinance duly passed on the 24th day of January, 1985, calling said Election; and WHEREAS, said election having been duly and regularly had and held as called in said Ordinance and according to law, and the returns thereof having been duly made and the Election Judges having certified the results of said Election, as hereinafter set out, and the City Council having duly and regularly canvassed the returns of said Election and finding that the total votes cast at said Election were as follows, to-wit: FOR—MAYOR Errmett O. Hutto 2 ,611 votes Helen A. Boyce 61 votes Allen Cannon 1 ,818 votes FOR COJNCIUv14N DISTRICT NO. 2 Roy L. Fuller 3 ,445 votes FOR COLM ILMAN DISTRICT NO. 3 Fred T. Phillips 2 ,154 votes Steve Fischer 1 ,804 votes Quintlan Carter 277 votes FOR CLU,4CILNWN DISTRICT NO. 6 Robert H. Bradford 1 ,705 votes Ron Embry 2 ,574 votes WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown finds the Election returns set out above to be accurate and correct and no Election protest or contest having been filed with said Council or instituted in connection with said Election returns; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS; 1641 Section 1: That EMMETT O. HUTTO received a majority of the votes cast at said election for the office of Mayor and accordingly, the said Emmett O. Hutto is hereby declared elected to the office of Mayor. Section 2: That ROY FULLER received a majority of the votes cast at said Election for the office of Councilman from District No. 2 and accordingly, the said ROY L. FULLER is hereby declared elected to the office of Councilman from District No. 2. Section 3: That FRED T. PHILLIPS received a majority of the votes cast at said Election for the office of Councilman from District No. 3 and accordingly, the said FRED T. PHILLIPS is hereby declared elected to the office of Councilman from District No. 3. Section 4: That RON EMBRY received a majority of the votes cast at said Election for the office of Councilman from District No. 6 and accordingly, the said RON EMBRY is hereby declared elected to the office of Councilman from District No. 6. Section 5: That the City Council of the City of Baytown further finds that the notice of said Election was duly and properly given as required by law and as provided in the Ordinance calling said Election and that said Election was duly and regularly held and the returns thereof duly and regularly made by the proper officials of said Election and in all things according to law. Section 6: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
