RESOLUTION NO. 892
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, NOMINATING A CANDIDATE TO FILL THE
UNEXPIRED TERM OF A POSITION ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE HARRIS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the incumbent member of the Board of Directors of the Harris
County Appraisal District elected by those incorporated cites and towns, other than
the City of Houston, participating in such District has submitted his resignation as a
member of said Board; and
WHEREAS, such cities and towns now have the right and the responsibility to
elect a person to fill the vacancy on the Board of Directors created by such
resignation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to nominate a candidate to fill such
vacant position on the Board of Directors of said District for the remainder of the
current term of that position, to wit: through December 31 , 1985; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the facts and recitations set forth in the preamble of this
Resolution be, and they are hereby, adopted, ratified, and confirmed.
Section 2: That GARY JONES be, and he or she is hereby, nominated as a
candidate to serve the remainder of the current term of that position on the Board
of Directors of the Harris County Appraisal District to be filled by those cities and
towns, other than the City of Houston, participating in such District.
Section 3: That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized and
directed to deliver or cause to be delivered an executed or certified copy of this
Resolution to the County Clerk of Harris County on or before October 31 , 1984.
Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown, this the 25th day of October, 1984.
