CC Resolution No. 890 1610 RESOLUTION NO. 890 A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN DISAPPROVING THE BUDGET ADOPTED BY THE HARRIS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT. Y iF iFiiF if Y-M3E iF iFi 3Ft k43EMiiF if f-MM%3E it 3F iEiFjEM3F if rtMM N-M 1F iF�FN3F iF Kit%if jF MiF 3FMjf MMiF iliF iF if MjFik iFiF iFYlf WHEREAS, the the Harris County Appraisal District was created by the provisions of the Texas Property Tax Code and is charged with the responsibility of performing, in the time and manner set forth in such Code, various functions relating to the appraisal of property for ad valorem tax purposes, for all taxing units within such District; and WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of said District approved and adopted a budget for the operations of said District on or about September 10, 1984; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 6.03 (c) of said code, the City of Baytown is a taxing unit participating in the Harris County Appraisal District and is entitled to vote on the appointment of members of the Board of Directors of said District; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, has reviewed and considered said budget adopted by the Board of said Appraisal District; and WHEREAS, Section 6.06 (b) of the Texas Property Tax Code authorizes the governing bodies of a majority of the taxing units entitled to vote on the appointment of members to the Board of Directors of said District to disapprove, by resolutions duly adopted, the budget approved and adopted by the Board of said District; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, a governing body of a taxing unit entitled to adopt a resolution disapproving said District's Budget, deems it appropriate and in the public interest to disapprove, said Budget for the reason that same is excessive; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the Budget for operations of the Harris County Appraisal District approved and adopted by the Board of Directors of said District on or about September 10, 1984, shall be and the same is hereby disapproved, pursuant to Section 6.06 (b) of the Texas Property Tax Code. Section 2: That the City Clerk of the City of Baytown be, and she is hereby, authorized and directed to forthwith file this Resolution with the Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Harris County Appraisal District. 1611 Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
