CC Resolution No. 876 1587 RESOLUTION NO. 876 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO THE U. S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR 1984 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, the 1984 Community Development Block Grant Funds are sources of federal revenue that are made available to local Community Development Programs for use in reconstructing streets and drainage facilities and for the rehabilitation of owner occupied homes; and WHEREAS, the Baytown Community Development Program is eligible for such funds and desires to apply for a grant; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Advisory Committee had made a recommendation as to the amounts and types of funds for which the local program should apply, such recommendation being attached as Exhibit "A" and being made a part hereof for all intents and purposes; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the Community Development Program is hereby authorized to apply to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for 1984 Community Development Block Grant Funds as described in Exhibit "A". Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown. STRONG, y Attorney 1588 Proposed Expenditure of 1984 Community Development Block Grant Funds The Community Development Advisory Committee proposes to expend 1984 Community Development Block Grant funds as follows: Proposed Activity Expenditure Street and Drainage Reconstruction $450,000 Housing Rehabilitation 220,000 Administration of Grant 99,000 Contingency-Unforseen Expenditures 10,000 $779,000 Although the Community Development Advisory Committee has not designated a street and drainage project, the Committee is considering a project, or projects in the Pelly Annex area. That area is bounded by Lee Drive, West Main, Oak Street, and Riggs. Housing Rehabilitation will be a city-wide activity. EXHIBIT A
