CC Resolution No. 853 1507 RESOLUTION NO . 853 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN SUPPORTING THE 9-1-1 PROPOSITION BY VOTERS ON NOVEMBER 8, 1983. WHEREAS, the 9-1-1 system will handle police, fire and medical emergency calls only; and WHEREAS, picking up a telephone and dialing 9-1-1 for help will automatically connect you with the responsible jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, once 9-1-1 is dialed, a tracing feature will facilitate emergency response to the calls origin; and WHEREAS, dialing 9-1-1 is easier to remember than the various fire, police and ambulance telephone numbers of each responsible jurisdiction; and WHEREAS, when seconds count, dialing 9-1-1 may save lives; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown supports proposition 9-1-1 on the ballot November 8, 1983, and urges all citizens of Baytown and Harris County to vote for proposition 9-1-1. Section 2: This Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
