RESOLUTION NO . 856
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN THE GREATER
HARRIS COUNTY 9-1-1 EMERGENCY NETWORK.
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown is a city that lies partly within Harris
County; and
WHEREAS, a majority of the votes cast by the voters of the City of
Baytown, in the November 8, 1983 election, as found in the Final Official Canvass
of the Election Records of Harris County, Texas, County Clerk's Office (Film Code
No. 738-55-0084 through 738-55-0097), were in favor of confirming the creation of
the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network and authorizing a 9-1-1
emergency service fee to be charged; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the matters and facts recited in the preamble of this
Resolution are found and determined to be true and correct; and
Section 2: That the City of Baytown become a participating jurisdiction of
the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network pursuant to the provision of the
9-1-1 Emergency Number Act with all the rights, privileges and duties as stated in
said Act, particularly the charging and collection of the 9-1-1 emergency service fee
according to the terms of said Act.
Section 3: That is is understood that once confirmed, the Greater Harris
County 9-1-1 Emergency Network will be subject to public review every three (3)
years, pursuant to Section 15 of the 9-1-1 Emergency Number Act, and that the
continued existence or dissolution of the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency
Network will be effected only by the terms of said Act.
Section 4: This Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown, this the 21st day of November, 1983.
