RESOLUTION NO. 846
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, EXPRESSING THE CITY'S APPRECIATION TO THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR THEIR ASSISTANCE IN THE
CLEANUP FOLLOWING HURRICANE ALICIA.
WHEREAS, Hurricane Alicia left thousands of Baytown's beautiful trees strewn
in it wake; and
WHEREAS, Edward Martin, City Manager, and Ernest Briones, Deputy City
Manager, for the City of Corpus Christi, knowing the destructive forces unleashed
by such storms, called and offered their assistance; and
WHEREAS, this assistance became embodied in the form of Andrus Gutierrez
and his clam shell bucket brush picker; and
WHEREAS, Andrus Gutierrez working tirelessly, left his mark upon a grateful
City; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City of Baytown publicly and sincerely thanks the Mayor
and City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Edward Martin, City Manager,
Ernest Briones, Deputy City Manager, and Andrus Gutierrez for their assistance in
the cleanup following Hurricane Alicia.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its
passage.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown, this the 8th day of September, 1983.
