RESOLUTION NO. 793
A UNANIMOUS RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAYTOWN , EPRESSING ITS GRATITUDE TO WANDA ORTON FOR
HER EFFORTS IN KEEPING THE PUBLIC INFORMED ABOUT ITS
CITY GOVERNMENT.
WHEREAS , Wanda Orton served as the Baytown Sun ' s city
government reporter for several years ;
WHEREAS , Ms . Orton attended many sessions of the City
Council and other city functions during her tenure ;
WHEREAS , Pis . Orton endeavored always to report the
events and decisions of the city with accuracy ;
WHEREAS , she never swayed from her duty to report the
facts in an unbiased fashion ;
WHEREAS , she was never lacking in her desire to dis-
cover and to report all facets to important issues ;
WHEREAS , she performed a very significant job in terms
of keeping the public abreast of its public; servants ;
WHEREAS , Ms . Orton approached the task of reporting
city government with responsibility and dedication .
WHEREAS , Ms . Orton through her employment acted- not
only as a reporter but as a concerned citizen ; NOW THERE-
FORE ,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN :
Section l : That the City Council would like to express
its gratitude to Wanda Orton for her efforts in keeping the
public informed about its city government .
Section 2 : That this Resolution shall take effect
immediately from and after its passage by the City Council
of the City of Baytown .
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council on this the 12Ch day of November
1981 .
