RESOLUTION NO. 759
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
COMMENDING THE BAYTOWN POLICE CHAPLAIN CORPS .
WHEREAS , the Baytown Police Chaplain Corps is composed
of a dedicated group of 16 ministers ;
WHEREAS , this group was organized in 1980 in order to
assist the Baytown Police in whatever manner they were
called upon;
WHEREAS, this group has spent countless hours with the
Baytown Police on patrols and with the patrolmen personally;
WHEREAS , the Corps has given the patrolman a partner
upon whom he can rely both for himself and as a helpmate
with those the policeman encounter on a daily basis ;
WHEREAS, the Corps has fulfilled a ministry to the
officers and citizens with whom they have been in contact ;
WHEREAS, their assistance has proven invaluable to the
community and to the Baytown Police Department , NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1 : That the City Council of the City of Baytown
hereby officially recognizes and expresses .its gratitude to
i the Baytown Police Chaplain Corps for their dedicated and
selfless civic participation in this program which has been
invaluable to the Police, City and Community .
Section 2 : That this Resolution shall take effect
immediately from and after its passage.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council of the City of Baytown on this 26th day of
,February 1981 .
