CC Resolution No. 748 1266 RESOLUTION NO. 748 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, ENDORSING AN AMENDMENT TO A CERTAIN AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN AND THE STATE OF TEXAS CONCERNING A CONTINUING, COMPREHENSIVE, COOPERATIVE TRANSPORTATION PLANNING PROCESS FOR THE HOUSTON-GALVESTON REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION STUDY AREA. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown by Resolution No. 437 did authorize the execution of an agreement between the State of Texas and the City of Baytown for the continuation of Urban Transportation Planning Studies presently underway in Harris and Galveston counties in order to fully establish a comprehensive and cooperative planning process to develop a Regional Transporation Plan; and WHEREAS, the Texas Highway Department proposes that this agreement be modified by abolishing the Policy Advisory Committee, and that its functions be absorbed by the Steering Committee, which will be known as the Transportation Planning Committee; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That the City Council hereby endorses amending the Transportation Planning Agreement entered into on July 27, 1973 , by providing that the Policy Advisory Committee be abolished and its functions be absorbed by the Steering Committee (to be henceforth known as the Transportation Planning Committee) ; and further, that the Steering Committee revise its bylaws as necessary to reflect this change. Section 2 : That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Steering Committee for the Houston-Galveston Regional Transportation Study Area. Section 3 : This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage. 126?
