RESOLUTION NO. 745
A UNANIMOUS RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, FORMALLY RECOGNIZING
AND EXPRESSING GRATITUDE TO THE LATE COL. HENRY
"PELLY" DITTMAN FOR DEVOTED SERVICE TO BAYTOWN:
AND RECOGNIZING SOME OF THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS HE
WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN BRINGING ABOUT DURING HIS
LIFETIME .
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Baytown to re-
cognize the dedication and service of Col . Henry "Pelly" Dittman ,
who during his lifetime worked tirelessly for the betterment of
his community and the welfare of his fellow Baytonians ;
WHEREAS , during his lifetime, Col . Dittman served a two
year term as City Councilman from DISTRICT NO. TWO.
WHEREAS , during his term, Col . Dittman was highly instru-
mental in the accomplishment of numerous goals for the City includ-
ing the $4 , 000 . 00 Homestead Exemption for citizens over 65 , drainage ,
sewer , and water projects , the construction of several community
buildings including the fire station and the Municipal Service Center ,
land subsidence legislation , and the 1975 Bond issue.
WHEREAS , after the completion of his term in the City
Council , Col . Dittman continued to serve his community in various
capacities including his role as a member of the Volunteer Fireman ' s
Board. NOW THEREFORE ,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN :
Section 1 . That the City Council of the City of Baytown
hereby officially recognizes and expresses its gratitude in regards
to the late Col . Henry "Pelly" Dittman for his faithful civic
participation in the government of the City of Baytown.
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage .
