AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS,
RENEWING THE ANNUAL CONCRETE WORK CONTRACT WITH TEAMWORK
CONSTRUCTION SERVICES,INC.;AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF A SUM NOT
TO EXCEED ONE MILLION AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($1,000,000.00);MAKING
OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO;AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS,Teamwork Construction Services,Inc.,was awarded the Annual Concrete Work
Contract onJune22,2010,pursuant to competitive bidding procedures,which contract included anoption
bythe parties to renew for additional one-year periods;and
WHEREAS,such contract was renewed onMay26,2011,and on February 9,2012,andcanbe
renewedagainforan additional one-year term;and
WHEREAS,Teamwork Construction Services,Inc.,has indicated its willingness to renew the
contract foran additional year under thesametermsand conditions;and
WHEREAS,the Administration has reviewed the market conditions and recommends renewal as
beinginthebestinterestoftheCity;NOWTHEREFORE
BEIT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section1:ThattheCity Council of theCity of Baytown hereby renews theAnnual
Concrete Work Contract with Teamwork Construction Services,Inc.,for an amount not to exceed ONE
MILLION AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($1,000,000.00)and authorizes payment thereof.
Section2:ThatpursuanttotheprovisionsofTexasLocal Government CodeAnnotated
§252.048,theCityManagerisherebygrantedgeneralauthoritytoapproveanychangeorderinvolvinga
decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($50,000.00)or less,
providedthattheoriginalcontractpricemaynotbeincreasedbymorethan twenty-five percent(25%)or
decreasedbymorethan twenty-Five percent(25%)withouttheconsent of the contractor tosuchdecrease.
Section3:Thisordinanceshalltakeeffectimmediately frorpyand afteritspassagebythe
CityCouncil of theCity of Baytown.
