AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
RENEWING THE WEEKLY RESIDENTIAL CURBSIDE RECYCLING CONTRACT
WITH WASTE MANAGEMENT OF TEXAS, INC.; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF
A SUM NOT TO EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED FIVE THOUSAND AND NO /100
DOLLARS ($505,000.00); AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.

WHEREAS, Waste Management of Texas, Inc., was awarded the Weekly Residential Curbside
Recycling Contract in 2008 for a three -year term with three options to renew the same for additional one -
year periods; and
WHEREAS, such contract was renewed on May 26, 2011, and can be renewed again for a one
year term; and
WHEREAS, Waste Management of Texas, Inc., has indicated its willingness to renew the
contract for an additional year under the same terms and conditions without a CPI -U increase and a fuel
surcharge adjustment as stated in the contract; and
WHEREAS, the Administration has reviewed the market conditions and recommends renewal as
being in the best interest of the City; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN. TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby renews the Weekly
Residential Curbside Recycling Contract with Waste Management of Texas, Inc., for an amount not to
exceed FIVE HUNDRED FIVE THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($505,000.00) and authorizes
payment thereof.
Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from a d after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
