IN THE HARRIS COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT MAINTENANCE
TAX AND URGING RESIDENTS OF THE CITY TO VOTE IN FAVOR

WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Baytown ,
Texas , is concerned that the Harris County Flood Control

its drainage system by major rectification of some bayous,
soil stabilization, repair of erosion, and vegetation control ;
and
WHEREAS , this Council recognizes that drainage is a top
priority in our community necessary to both prevent flood
damage to homes and businesses and to safeguard the health
of its residents; and
WHEREAS , this Council further recognizes that flood
control and adequate drainage require the cooperative and
concerted efforts of the city and the flood control district ;
and
WHEREAS , on November 8 , 1977, there will be a Flood
Control Maintenance Tax Issue enabling the Flood Control
District to increase the maintenance tax ten cents ( $0. 10) ;
