CC Resolution No. 515 743 RESOLUTION NO. 515 F A UNANIMOUS RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 1 BAYTOWN, TEXAS, FORMALLY RECOGNIZING AND THANKING COL. HENRY "PELLY" DITTMAN FOR HIS TWO YEARS OF DEVOTED SERVICE AS COUNCILMAN FROM DISTRICT NO. TWO; AND RECOGNIZING SOME OF I THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS HE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN BRINGING ABOUT DURING HIS TENURE OF OFFICE. 's i WHEREAS, Col . Henry "Pelly" Dittman served the City of Baytown as City Councilman from District No. Two for a period of two (2) years terminating on April 30, 1975; and WHEREAS, during such time, the said Col . Henry "Pelly" Dittman has distinguished himself in the performance of his duties as a Councilman by his untiring efforts on behalf of the City Council , the City Administration, and the R Community at Large; and WHEREAS, the said Col . Henry "Pelly" Dittman has been directly instru- mental in the accomplishment by the City of many achievements during such period including the $4,000 Homestead Exemption for citizens over 65, transportation being provided for the elderly, drainage improvements being made throughout the community, new Fire Station and Municipal Service Center constructed, water, sewer, and street improvements, land subsidence legislation passed by the Texas Legislature, improved refuse collection and disposal , and successfully promoted 1975 Bond Issue; and WHEREAS, during his term of office Col . Henry "Pelly" Dittman served as the City of Baytown's representative to the Executive Committee of the Houston- Galveston Area Council ; and WHEREAS, during his term of office the City continued to grow and prosper 3 and be operated on a sound financial basis; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown desires formally to express its appreciation to Councilman Henry "Pelly" Dittman for his faithful civic participation in the government of the City of Baytown; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1 : THAT the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby officially recognizes, thanks and commends the said, COL. HENRY "PELLY" DITTMAN for his valuable services to the City as Councilman from District No. Two. 744 INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the unanimous vote of the members of the City Council of the City of Baytown on this loth day of July 1975.
