RESOLUTION NO. 513
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, COMMENDING THE HOUSTON AND GALVESTON
OFFICES OF THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FOR THEIR
PROMPT AND ACCURATE PREDICTIONS AND OUTSTANDING
SPIRIT OF COOPERATION, AT ALL TIMES, AND PARTICULARLY
DURING TIMES OF EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, because of subsidence of land in the
Baytown area, portions of the City of Baytown have been and
will continue to be plagued by flooding; and
WHEREAS, with the realization that the City of
Baytown is under the constant threat of flooding, the National
Weather Service has on numerous occasions communicated
weather information directly to Baytown officials so that
necessary preparations could be made and warnings given; NOW
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of
Baytown does hereby on behalf of its citizens commend the
Houston and Galveston offices of the National Weather Service
for their prompt and accurate predictions and outstanding
spirit of cooperation, at all times , and particularly during
times of emergency.
Section 2 : That this Resolution shall take effect
immediately from and after its passage by the City Council
of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative
vote of the City Council of the City of Baytown, this 12th
