A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, BY WHICH THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, CONCURS WITH THE PROPOSED WORK ELEMENTS ESTABLISHED
BY THE HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL' S WORK PROGRAM
AND AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATION TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE HOUSTON-GALVESTON
AREA COUNCIL FOR FUNDING.
WHEREAS, Governor Dolph Briscoe has designated the
Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) as Metropolitan
Planning Organization (MPO) for transportation planning in
this region; and
WHEREAS , this designation allows the City of Baytown to
participate in the development of the Planning documents
with funding to be provided pursuant to Section 112 of the
Federal Aid Highway Act of 1973; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown concurred
with the concept of the Unified Work Program which now
includes the work elements of: data development, modeling
forecast development, planning improvements and plan evaluation;
and
WHEREAS, it will necessitate the City of Baytown entering
into an intergovernmental agreement to participate in the
funding; NOW THEREFORE,
1 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS :
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, concurs with the Houston-Galveston Area Council' s
Unified Work Program and authorizes the Administration to
enter into an intergovernmental agreement for funding the
Transportation Planning process in the City of Baytown.
Section 2 : This Resolution shall take effect immediately
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City
of Baytown, Texas.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council of the City of Baytown, this 8th day of
May, 1975.
