CC Resolution No. 489 RESOLUTION NO. 489 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, DECLARING WAR, ELECTION DAY, NOVEMBER 5 , 1974. WHEREAS, voter apathy has been prevalent the last few elections; and WHEREAS, one of the duties of citizenship is to cast an informed ballot and use the Weapons System (voter registration certificate) ; and WHEREAS, in order to fire the shot, it is necessary to go to the polls November 5 , 1974; and WHEREAS, the shot is not fired until the lever on the voting machine has been pulled; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN : Section 1 : That all voters are urged to go to war (polls) on November 5 , 1974, and fire their shot for democracy and honest elected officals. Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
