A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
DECLARING WAR, ELECTION DAY, NOVEMBER 5 , 1974.
WHEREAS, voter apathy has been prevalent the last few elections; and
WHEREAS, one of the duties of citizenship is to cast an informed ballot
and use the Weapons System (voter registration certificate) ; and
WHEREAS, in order to fire the shot, it is necessary to go to the polls
November 5 , 1974; and
WHEREAS, the shot is not fired until the lever on the voting machine has
been pulled; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN :
Section 1 : That all voters are urged to go to war (polls) on November
5 , 1974, and fire their shot for democracy and honest elected officals.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after
its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council
of the City of Baytown this 24th day of October, 1974.
