A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS ,
OFFICIALLY DESIGNATING THE TRACT OF LAND ACQUIRED BY THE CITY
FROM W. A. HARPER AND WIFE, KATHLEEN GIBSON HARPER AS A PUBLIC
PARK, AND OFFICIALLY DESIGNATING AND NAMING SUCH TRACT AS
THE PELLY PARK.
WHEREAS, by a deed delivered to the City conveying to the City land
situated in the William Scott Lower League, Harris County, Texas , and being
apart of that certain 38.634 acre tract conveyed to W. A. Harper, et ux by
Benjamin Hunter, Jr. , et ux, by deed dated March 1 , 1933, as recorded in Volume
1120, at Page 322, of the Harris County Deed Records ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to officially dedicate such land
for park purposes and desires to officially name said tract; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1 : That the City Council hereby dedicates the tract acquired
from W. A. HARPER and wife, KATHLEEN GIBSON HARPER and situated in William
Scott Lower League, Harris County, Texas , and being apart of that certain
38.634 acre tract conveyed to W. A. Harper, et ux by Benjamin Hunter, Jr. ,
et ux, by deed dated March 1 , 1933, as recorded in Volume 1120, at Page 322,
of the Harris County Deed Records for public park purposes.
Section 2: That the City Council hereby officially designates and
names the above tract of land as the PELLY PARK.
Section 3: This resolution shall take effect from and after its
passage by the City Council .
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council
of the City of Baytown on this 6th day of July, 1972.
