A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS ,
OFFICIALLY DESIGNATING THE TRACT OF LAND ACQUIRED BY THE CITY
FROM R. M. HARPER AND WIFE, CLARA BELL HARPER AS A PUBLIC PARK,
AND OFFICIALLY DESIGNATING AND NAMING SUCH TRACT AS THE BAYTOWN
SPORTS COMPLEX.
WHEREAS, by a deed delivered to the City conveying to the City land
situated in the E. Schaffer Survey in Harris County, Texas , and being a part
of Lot 8 and most of Lot 7, Block 21 of the Highland Farms Subdivision as
recorded in Vol . 7, Pages 60 & 61 of the Map Records of Harris County, Texas ,
said part of Lot 8 being all of Lots 11 thru 23 and the most northerly 38.5
feet of Lot 24 of Block 9 of the East End Addition as recorded in Volume
15, Page 60, Map Records of said County; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to officially dedicate such land
for park purposes and desires to officially name said tract; NOW THEREFORE ,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN :
Section 1 : That the City Council hereby dedicates the tract acquired
from R. M. HAPRER and wife, Clara Bell Harper, and situated in E. Schaffer
Survey in Harris County, Texas , and being a part of Lot 8 and most of Lot
7, Block 21 of the Highland Farms Subdivision as recorded in Vol . 7, Pages
60 & 61 of the Map Records of Harris County, Texas , said part of Lot 8 being
all of Lots 11 thru 23 and the most northerly 38.5 feet of Lot 24 of Block
9 of the East End Addition as recorded in Volume 15, Page 60, Map Records
of said County for park purposes.
Section 2: That the City Council hereby officially designates and
names the above tract of land as the BAYTOWN SPORTS COMPLEX.
Section 3: This resolution shall take effect from and after its
passage by the City Council .
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown on this 6th day of July, 1972 .
