CC Resolution No. 393 RESOLUTION NO. 393 A UNANIMOUS RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN FORMALLY RECOGNIZING AND THANKING LEONARD STASNEY FOP HIS THREE YEARS OF DEVOTED SERVICE AS COUNCILMAN FROM DISTRICT NO. FOUR; AND RECOGNIZING SOME OF THE ACCOMPLISH- MENTS HE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN BRINGING ABOUT DURING HIS TENURE OF OFFICE. WHEREAS, Leonard Stasney served the City of Baytown as City Councilman from District No. Four for a period of three (3) years terminating on April 12 , 1972; and WHEREAS, during such time, the said Leonard Stasney has distinguished himself in the performance of his duties as Councilman by his untiring efforts on behalf of the City Council , the City Administration and the community at large; and WHEREAS , the said Leonard Stasney has been directly instrumental in the accomplishment by the City of many achievements during such period including the passage of 11 .6 Million Dollar Bonds Program which among other things will provide and has provided funds for purchase by the City of major park properties, as well as the development of same , provides for the improvement of existing water and sewer facilities , and provides for major street im- provements; applied for Public Law 660 Grant; retirement benefits for City Employees increased; annexation of additional territory; infiltration crew began work on City sewer line; package sewer plant added to Craigmont's Sewage Treatment Plant; additional city personnel added in many departments ; and WHEREAS, during his terms of office he has represented the City in the following capacity: 1 . Baytown Environmental Advisory Board; 2. Municipal Civil Defense Disaster Relief Committee; 3. Council Wrecker Committee; 4. Salary Study Committee; 5. Industrial District Committee; 6. Expense Reimbursement Study Committee; 7. Annexation Committee; 8. Pipeline Committee; 9. Revenue Committee, Chairman; 10. Pollution Study Committee; 11 . Cedar Bayou Stream Study Committee, Chairman; 12. Representative for the Houston-Galveston Area Council ; and WHEREAS , during his terms of office the City has continued to grow and prosper and be operated on a sound financial basis ; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown desires formally to express its appreciation to Councilman Leonard Stasney for his many years of faithful civic participation in the government of the City of Baytown: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN : THAT the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby officially recog- nizes , thanks and commends the said, Leonard Stasney for his valuable services to the City as Councilman from District No. Four.
