A RESOLTTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PAYTOTAN RMXTTIZING
THE CONTRIBUTION OF THE LATF. FRANK D. MURDOCF TO THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
FORMALLY NAMING A PUBLIC PARK IN HIS HONOR; ATTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THAT THIS RF,SOLUTION BF. F, TfrM BY THE MAYOR AND CITY =RTC, THAT
A CERTIFIED COPY THERFOF BF PRFSET7D TO THY, HEIRS OF FRANK D. MUR-
nOCH; DIRECTING THE CITY PARKS AND RECREATION DFPARTMFNT TO HOLD AN
APPROPRIATF. DEDICATION CERFMNY.
WHEREAS, the late Frank D. Murdoch was a resident of the City of Baytown,
Texas, and
WHEREAS, Frank D. Murdoch and his associates donated Danubina Park to
the City of Baytown several years ago; and
WHEREAS, Frank D. Murdoch was admired and respected by the entire community
and is revered and rerrembered by his many accorrplishments; and
WFT,FTAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board recomrends the nacre of
Danubina Park be changed to Frank D. Murdoch Park; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown believes that the merrory
of this fine gentleman should be sustained in some appropriate way, NOW THFRT7ORF;
BE IT RFSOLVFD BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOTgnT:
Section 1: That the public park heretofore known as Danuhina Park hence-
forth be known as and is hereby named Frank D. Murdoch Park, and the City Adminis-
tration is hereby authorized and directed to place thereon in the proper place
a plaque attached to a durable stand bearing the name, Frank D. Murdoch Park .
Section 2: That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to execute this resolution, and the City Manager is directed to forward
a certified copy, thereof, to the heirs of Frank D. Murdoch.
Section 3: That the Parks and Recreation Department is hereby directed
to hold an appropriate dedication cererrony to witness the said event.
Section 4: Effective Date: This resolution shall become effective
from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown, on this 2nd day of May 1972.
