A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN ,
TEXAS, FORMALLY ENDORSING THE EFFORTS OF THE CHAMBER OF
COMMERCE BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE AND THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE IN THEIR ALL OUT CLEANUP CAMPAIGN
IN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN.
WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee and the
City of Baytown Beautification Committee are jointly conducting a Cleanup
Campaign in the City of Baytown ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown whole-heartedly
supports the Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee and the City of
Baytown Beautification Committee in their efforts and recognizes the need
for continuing vigilance in this area; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown deems that the
efforts of these committees could be greatly facilitated by the governing
body of the City of Baytown, reaffirming its position with regard to littering
and beautification, and taking a firm stand with regard to vigorous enforce-
ment of litter and beautification ordinances and statutes ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown deems that the
efforts of the Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee and the City of
Baytown Beautification Committee would further be facilitated by the whole-
hearted support of all departments within the administration of the City of
Baytown; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown deems that vigorous
enforcement of litter and beautification ordinances and statutes is an integral
part of this Cleanup Campaign ; NOW THEREFORE ,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1 : That the City Council of the City of Baytown formally
endorses the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee and
the City of Baytown Beautification Committee in their efforts in an all out
Cleanup Campaign in the City of Baytown.
Section 2: And, that the City Council of the City of Baytown
reaffirms the position of the City of Baytown as stated in the various
ordinances and statutes relating to litter and beautification.
Section 3: This resolution shall take effect from and after its
passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City
Council of the City of Baytown this 18th day of April 1972.
