A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYOWN
SUPPORTING LEE COLLEGE IN ITS EFFORTS TO OBTAIN CERTI-
FICATION TO ADMINISTER COURSES REQUIRED BY THE LAW
ENFORCEMENT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM ESTABLISHED THROUGH
THE TEXAS COMMISSION ON LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER STANDARDS
AND EDUCATION AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the 62nd Legislature of the State of Texas by
affirmative vote passed Senate Bill No. 72 , providing for the es-
tablishment of a Police Reserve Force providing that members of
any Police Reserve Force shall meet the minimum mental , physical,
educational, and moral standards as established by the Commission
on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education, and providing
that a person serving as a reserve law enforcement officer before
the effective date of the Act must fulfill the minimum mental ,
physical , educational, and moral and training standards established
by the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Ed-
ucation prior to January 1 , 1973; and
WHEREAS, Lee College situated in Baytown, Texas , has
the educational facilities necessary for the administration of
the training required by the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer
Standards and Education; and
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1 : That the City of Baytown wholeheartedly
supports attempts of Lee College to obtain certification to
administer the Law Enforcement Certification Program.
Section 2 : This resolution is to become effective
from and after its date of passage.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of
the City Council of the City of Baytown this 7th day of September,
1971 .
