CC Resolution No. 347-A COPY RESOLUTION NO. 347-A AN UNANIMOUS RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOhIN TEXAS, SETTING FORTH DESIRED PRIORITIES FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION WITHIid 1HE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTO'+IN ; AND THE BAYTO',IN AREA; DI- RECTING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND THE CITY CLERK TO ATTEST THIS RESOLUTION; DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO FORIIARD COPIES OF THE SANE TO THE TEXAS HTGH11AY DEPARTMENT, COUNTY OF HARRIS; AND PRO- VIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, the volume of traffic within the City of Baytown and surrounding area has greatly increased and will continue to increase in the future due to the industrial development of the Baytown area; and WHEREAS, this increase volume of traffic has created and will continue to create serious congestion problems ; NOW THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTO'rlN , TEXAS: Section 1 : THAT, the City Council requests that the Texas Highway Department consider the following list of projects as the City of Baytown's desired list of priorities: 1 . Loop 201 frontage roads 2. Spur 55 and Farm Road 1405 3. Highway 146 improvements 4. Bayway Drive 5. San Jacinto - Spur 330 (Decker Drive) overpass 6. Baker Road 7. Highway 146 - Spur 55 interchange 8. Main lanes Loop 201 Section 2: Further, that, due to the increase in traffic and resulting congestion, the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby urges the construction of a bridge across the Houston Shi,p Channel . I Section 3: THAT, the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute and the City Clerk to attest this resolution for and on behalf of the City i i Council of the City of Baytown. Section 4: THAT, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to forward certified copies of this resolution to the Texas Highway Department. Section 5: This resolution shall become effective from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytorm, Texas .
