CC Resolution No. 344 RESOLUTION NO. 344 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN OFFICIALLY DEDICATING TRACTS OF LAND ACQUIRED BY THE CITY FROM MRS. LOUISE JENKINS , AS A PUBLIC PARK, AND OFFICIALLY DESIGNATING AND NAMING SUCH TRACTS AS THE "WALTER JENKINS MEMORIAL PARK" . WHEREAS , Mrs. Louise Jenkins , by a deed delivered to the City, conveyed to the City two tracts of land situated in the David McFadden Survey and the Christian Smith Survey to be used as City park property; and WHEREAS , according to the terms of the contract be- tween Mrs. Louise Jenkins and the City of Baytown, Mrs. Jenkins made several valuable concessions for the benefit of the City; and WHEREAS, these concessions are appreciated and ac- knowledged by the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS , Mrs. Louise Jenkins ' late husband Mr. Walter Jenkins was an outstanding member of the community and contri- buted much toward the improvement of the City of Baytown and its citizens ; and WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to officially dedicate such land, for park purposes , and to further express the graditude and appreciation of the community to Mr. Walter Jenkins by naming said tracts of park land the "Walter Jenkins Memorial Park" ; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1 : That the City Council hereby dedicates the two tracts acquired from Mrs. Louise Jenkins and situated in the David McFadden Survey and the Christian Smith Survey, for public park purposes. I Section 2 : That the City Council hereby officially designates and names the above described tracts of land as the "Walter Jenkins Memorial Park" . Section 3 : This resolution shall take effect from and after its passage by the City Council.
