CC Resolution No. 302-A RESOLUTION NO. 302 - A A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN FORMALLY REQUESTING COUNTY COMMISSIONER V. V. RAMSEY TO CAUSE THE COMMISSIONER'S COURT OF HARRIS COUNTY TO EARMARK MONEY PREVIOUSLY COMMITTED TO ASSURE THE IMPROVEMENT OF BAKER ROAD; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE THIS RESOLUTION AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO FOR- WARD A CERTIFIED COPY OF SAME TO COUNTY COMMISSIONER V. V. RAMSEY. WHEREAS, County Commissioner V. V. (Red) Ramsey has previously made a commitment to the City that the Commissioner's Court of Harris County would expend the sum of $172,500.00 for the improvement of Baker Road from North Main Street to Garth Road; and WHEREAS, the fact that such sum has been committed by the County was taken into consideration by the City in preparing its 1970 Capital Improve- ments Bond Program; and WHEREAS, without such funds from the County for the improvement of Baker Road, the City would have insuffienct funds for the improvement of this major thoroughfare which is in great need of permanent improvement; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby formally requests County Commissioner V. V. (Red) Ramsey to cause the Commissioner's Court to earmark the money previously committed so as to assure that this expenditure will be made by the County for the improvement of Baker Road. Section 2: That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, this resolution for and on behalf of the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the City Manager is directed to forward a certified copy of same to County Commissioner V. V. (Red) Ramsey. INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, on this 3rd day of December, 1970. C.
