CC Resolution No. 284 RESOLUTION NO. 284 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE AP- PLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN FOR A FEDERAL GRANT UNDER PUBLIC LAW 660 , AS AMENDED, FOR THE REIMBURSE- MENT OF THE COSTS OF CERTAIN SEWAGE TRANSMISSION AND TREAT- MENT IMPROVEMENTS AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. WHEREAS, the City of Baytown constructed certain sewage transmission and treatment facilities , with a total cost of $ as part of the 1965 Capital Improvements Program; and WHEREAS, all aspects of such construction met the requirements of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, Public Law 660 , as amended, and such improvements qualify for a grant under the reimbursable provisions of such Act; and WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary and proper to apply for a federal grant under such Act in order for the City of Baytown to have sufficient funds to complete other much needed sewage transmission and treatment facilities; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN: Section 1: That D. R. Voelkel, City Manager for the City of Baytown, be and is hereby authorized and directed to make application and sign the necessary documents required to certify such project as coming within the provisions of Public Law 660 , as amended, for the purpose of receiving a grant under the reimbursable provisions of such Act with regard to the con- struction of the above mentioned sewage facilities. The City of Baytown hereby agrees to furnish all proof necessary to certify that such improvements were completed in accordance with the provisions of Public Law 660 , and that all of the costs of such improvements were paid for by City of Baytown funds . BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1 : That TED L. KLOESEL received a majority of the votes cast at said Election for the office of Councilman from District No. One (1 ) and, accordingly, District No. One (1 ) of the City of Baytown. Section 2: That LEONARD W. STASNEY received a majority of the votes cast at said Election for the office of Councilman from District No. Four (4) and, accordingly, District No. Four (4) of the City of Baytown. Section 3: That JAMES ALLEN CANNON received a majority of the votes cast at said Election for the office of Councilman from District No. Five (5) and, accordingly, District No. Five (5) of the City of Baytown. Section 4: That the City Council of the City of Baytown further finds that the notice of said Election was duly and properly given as re- quired by law and as provided in the Ordinance calling said Election and that said Election was duly and regularly held and the returns thereof duly and regularly made by the proper officials of said Election, and in all things according to law.
