A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN CONTINUING A CERTAIN POLICY WITH REGARD TO
THE INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHTS IN EXISTING SUB-
DIVISIONS UNTIL MARCH 15TH , 1970 , AND ADOPTING A
NEW POLICY AFTER SUCH TIME ; RECITING THE PROVISIONS
OF THE OLD AND NEW POLICIES ; AUTHORIZING AND DI -
RECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ATTEST THE
RESOLUTION FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL ;
PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF .
WHEREAS , Ordinance No . 1008 , adopted on the 8th day
of January , 1970 , amended Chapter 27 of the Code of Ordinances ,
"Subdivisions " , by setting out certain requirements concerning
the installation of street lights within new subdivisions
developed within the city limits ; and
WHEREAS , the City Council desires to evidence its
present policy , as well as to adopt a new policy effective
March 15 , 1970 , concerning the installation of street lights
in subdivisions already developed and established ; NOW
THEREFORE ,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN:
Section 1 : The policy heretofore followed by the
City with regard to the installation of street lights in
existing subdivisions shall continue through the 15th day of
March , 1970 . This existing policy may be stated as follows :
a . Wooden poles may by installed in subdivisions
without curb and gutter paving - $45 per light.
b . Metal poles only may be installed in sub-
divisions with curb and gutter paving - $60 per light.
C . In all cases , developer , owner or civic
association must arrange for necessary easements .
d . As a general rule , not less than four (4 )
street lights will be installed at any one time .
Section 2: That on and after March 15 , 1970 , the
City will adopt the following policy with regard to the in-
stallation of street lights in existing subdivisions :
a . Wooden poles may be installed in subdivisions
without curb and gutter paving - $90 per light.
b . Metal poles only may be installed in sub-
divisions with curb and gutter paving - $150 per light .
c . Same as above .
d . Same as above .
Section 3: That the Mayor is hereby authorized and
directed to execute , and the City Clerk to attest, this
Resolution for and on behalf of the City Council .
Section 4: Effective Date : That this Resolution
shall take effect from and after the date of its passage by
the City Council of the City of Baytown .
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote
of the City Council of the City of Baytown on this 8th day
of January , 1970 .
