RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE GIVING OF NOTICE OF
INTENTION TO ISSUE TIME WARRANTS

The City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas , con-
vened in session, open to the public, at the
City Hall within said City on the 7 day of February,
1969, with the following members and the City Clerk present ,
to-wit :

when, among other business, the following was transacted :
The Mayor introduced a resolution which was read in
full. Councilman made a motion that the resolu-
tion be adopted as read. Councilman seconded the
motion for adoption of the resolution. The motion, carrying
with it the adoption of the resolution, prevailed by the fol-
lowing vote :

The Mayorithereupon announced that the resolution had
been duly and lawfully adopted. The resolution thus adopted
follows :
RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE GIVING OF NOTICE OF
INTENTION TO ISSUE TIME WARRANTS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown,
Texas, deems it advisable for the City to acquire and improve
land for municipal purposes and also deems it necessary and
desirable for the City to issue the time warrants of said City
for the purpose of evidencing the indebtedness of the City for
all, or any part of, the cost of such acquisition, including
personal and professional services to be rendered and other
incidental expenses to be incurred in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the giv-
ing of notice of intention to issue said time warrants; there-
fore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS :
Section 1 : That it is hereby found and declared that
it is necessary for the City of Baytown to acquire and improve
land for municipal purposes, and that in order to accomplish

such acquisition, it is necessary that time warrants of the
City be issued to pay all, or any part of, the cost of said
acquisition, including personal and professional services to
be rendered and other incidental expenses to be incurred in
connection therewith.
Section 2 : That the City Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to cause notice in substantially the following
form to be published as required by law:

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ISSUE TIME WARRANTS
TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, WHOSE
NAMES APPEAR ON THE LAST APPROVED TAX ROLLS AS PROPERTY
TAXPAYERS OF SAID CITY, AND TO ALL OTHER INTERESTED PERSONS :
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the
City Council to authorize and issue time warrants of the City
in the maximum sum of $90,000, bearing interest at a rate not
to exceed 6% per annum, and maturing serially over a period
of years not to exceed 30 years from their date with maximum
maturity date not later than March 1, 1999, for the purpose
r of evidencing the indebtedness of said City for all, or any
part of, the cost of acquiring and improving land for munici-
pal purposes, including personal and professional services to
be rendered and other incidental expenses to be incurred in
connection therewith. It is the intention of said City Council
to pass the ordinance authorizing the issuance of said time
warrants at a meeting thereof to be held at S'Do P .m. on the

Section 3 : That the notice set forth above in Section 1
shall be published in `— once a week. for
two consecutive weeks prior to the date set forth in said
notice for the adoption of the ordinance authorizing the issu-
ance of said time warrants, the date of the first publication
to be at least fourteen full days prior to the said date set
for adopting such order . It is hereby found and declared that

of Baytown, Texas , and is of general circulation within said
City . h
