A UNANIMOUS RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAYTOWN COMMENDING AND PLEDGING ITS
SUPPORT TO THE BAYTOWN INTERFAITH TASK FORCE
ON HOUSING; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR
AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A COPY OF THIS RESO-
LUTION AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO FORWARD
A CERTIFIED COPY OF SAME TO SUCH ORGANIZATION .
WHEREAS , the City Council of the City of Baytown
has taken notice of the creation of the Baytown Interfaith
Task Force on Housing , an organization consisting of pri-
vate citizens of the City of Baytown, and created to seek
additional housing for low income families in the city; and
WHEREAS , the City Council is cognizant of the
fact that there is a need for such additional housing; and
WHEREAS , the City Council desires to encourage
the pursuit of such a worthy cause in the community; and
WHEREAS , the City Council wishes to officially
commend the said Baytown Interfaith Task Force on Housing
for its service to the community in this respect, and to
further officially pledge its support to the goals of said
organization; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1 : That the Baytown Interfaith Task Force
on Housing is hereby officially commended for its service
to the community as indicated above, and the City Council of
the City of Baytown hereby officially pledges its support
to such organization.
Section 2 : That the Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby authorized and directed to execute this resolution
and the City Manager is directed to present a certified copy
of same to the Baytown Interfaith Task Force on Housing.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative
vote of the members of the City Council of the City of
Baytown on this the 20th day of June, 1968 .
