AN UNANIMOUS RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE BAYTOWN VOLUNTEER FIREMEN
FOR THE MANY YEARS THAT THEY HAVE SERVED BAYTOWN; AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE COPIES OF THIS RESOLU-
TION AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO FORWARD CERTIFIED COPIES OF
SAME TO THE BAYTOWN VOLUNTEER FIREMEN.
WHEREAS, there have been Volunteer Firemen in the City of Baytown since
its inception; and
WHEREAS, such firemen devote much of their time and energy to serving
the City at no compensation; and
WHEREAS, such service constitutes a real tax savings to the citizens of
Baytown; and
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown, over the years, could not have had an
effective fire fighting force without said volunteer firemen; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wants to take cognizance of such splendid
workers and to ask them to continue to serve Baytown; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown unanimously
thanks, commends and officially recognizes the many years that the Volunteer
Firemen have contributed to this area's citizens . That said Council hereby urges
such Volunteer Firemen, individually and collectively, to continue to serve their
City because of their vast knowledge and experience and the great savings to the
tax payers of Baytown.
Section 2: That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to execute this resolution and the City Manager is directed to forward
certified copies of same to the Baytown Volunteer Firemen.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the members of the
City Council of the City of Baytown this the day of September, A.D. , 1967.
