A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN REQUESTING THE
COUNTY OF HARRIS TO INCREASE ITS ASSISTANCE FROM SIX HUNDRED ($600.00)
DOLLARS per annum to ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED ($1,200.00) DOLLARS per
annum for BAYTOWN FURNISHING FIRE PROTECTION TO RESIDENTS OF HARRIS
COUNTY AND OUTSIDE THE CITY LIMITS OF BAYTOWN; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECT-
ING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE COPIES OF THIS RESOLUTION AND
DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO FORWARD CERTIFIED COPIES OF SAME TO THE
PROPER OFFICIALS OF THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown furnishes fire protection to persons and
firms living outside of its city limits but within Harris County; and
WHEREAS, such arrangement has been covered by a contract between the
City and Harris County as provided for by Article 235la-1, V.A.C.S. ; and
WHEREAS, a study by the Administration of the City of Baytown has indi-
cated that said sum of Six Hundred ($600.00) Dollars does not cover the expenses of
providing such service by the City; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the Commissioners Court of Harris County is respectfully
urged to increase its financial assistance from the present sum of Six Hundred
($600.00) Dollars per annum to One Thousand Two Hundred ($1,200.00) Dollars per annum.
Section 2: That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed
to execute this resolution and the City Manager is directed to forward certified
copies of same to the members of the Commissioners Court of Harris County, Texas.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the members of the
City Council of the City of Baytown on this the 25th day of May, 1967.
