A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN REQUESTING
THE COMMISSIONERS COURT OF HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, TO PROVIDE THE CITY
OF BAYTOWN WITH TWO HUNDRED ($200.00) DOLLARS PER MONTH TO ASSIST
SAID CITY IN THE COST OF OPERATING AMBULANCE SERVICE OUTSIDE OF THE
BAYTOWN CITY LIMITS AND TO AND FROM HOSPITALS IN HOUSTON; RESOLVING
THAT A CONTRACT BE EXECUTED BETWEEN THE CITY OF BAYTOWN AND THE COUNTY
OF HARRIS SETTING FORTH SAID FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND INCIDENTS THERE-
TO; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE
COPIES OF THIS RESOLUTION AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO FORWARD
CERTIFIED COPIES OF SAME TO THE PROPER OFFICIALS OF THE COMMISSIONERS
COURT OF HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS,
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown has entered a contract with a private person
to provide ambulance service for Baytonians ; and
WHEREAS, among other things , Baytown or its contractor will, from time
to tiuv_, provide emergency ambulance service for people living outside the City and
-d_11 transport persons in and out of its City limits; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is firmly of the opinion that this is a function
of Harris County and that the Commissioners Court of Harris County should assist
the City of Baytown in the cost thereof; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1•
That the City Council hereby formally requests the Commissioners Court of
Harris County to provide the City of Baytown with Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars per
month to assist it in the cost of operating ambulance service outside of its city
limits and to and from hospitals in Houston.
Section 2•
It is further resolved and requested of the County that a contract be
executed between the City of Baytown and the County of Harris setting forth the
monthly assistance to the City of Baytown and other matters properly related and it
should be included in such contract.
Section 3•
That the Mayor and City Clerk are 1,2reby authorized and directed to execute
this resolution and the City Manager is directed to present certified copies of same
to the members of the Commissioners Court of Harris County, Texas.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the members of
the City Council of the City of Baytown on this the 25th day of May, 1967.
