A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAYT0WN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
TRANSFER ELEVEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED NINETY
($11,990.00) DOLLARS FROM COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUND
TO BUDGET CLASSIFICATIONS 101-7-4, 109-1-2, 202-
10-4 AND 701-9-1.
W IT RF.ZaOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
THAT the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas hereby authorizes
the City Manager to transfer Eleven Thousand Nine Hundred and Ninety
($11,990.00) Dollars from the Council Contingency Fund to the following
budget classifications, to-wit:
101-7-4 Judgements & Damages $1,500.00
109-1-2 Salaries Clerical Library 4,140.00
202-10-4 Automotive Equipment 5,000.00
Fire Department
701-9-1 Neather Conditioning 1,350.00
Office -Operations Dept
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by an affirmative vote of a majority
of the City Council on this loth day of April, 1963.

AND WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown finds the Election
returns as set out above to be accurate and correct and no Election protest or
contest having been filed with said Council or instituted in connection with said
Election; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN:
Section 1: That Dr. C. L. (Lee) Liggett received a majority of the votes
cast at said Election for the office of Mayor from the City at large and, accord-
ingly, the said Dr. C. L. (Lee) Liggett is hereby elected to the office of Mayor
of the City of Baytown.
Section 2: That as shown above no candidate received a majority of the
votes cast at said Election for the office of Councilman from District No. 2 and,
accordingly, it is necessary that a Run-Off Election be held to elect a Council-
man from said District No. 2 - and it appearing that
T. E. (Tommy) Cook and
David L. Norton
are the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes at said Election for
the office of Councilman from District No. 2, it is, therefore, ORDERED that a
Special Run-Off Election be held for the purpose of electing one of these candi-
dates for said office.
Section 3: That Kenneth E. Badgett received a majority of the votes cast
at said Election for the office of Councilman from District No. 3 and, accordin,a
the said Kenneth E. Badgett is hereby elected to the office of Councilman from
District No. 3 of the City of Baytown.
Section 4: That as shown no candidate received a majority of the votes
cast at said Election for the office of Councilman from District No. 6 and, ac-
cordingly, it is necessary that a Run-Off Election be held to elect a Councilman
from said District No.6 - and it appearing that
M. E. Lively and
J M. (Jiro) Bryan
are the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes at said Election for
the office of Councilman from District No. 6, it is, therefore, ORDERED that a
Special Run-Off Election be held for the purpose of electing one of these candi-
dates for said office.
Section 5: That the City Council of the City of Baytown further finds that
the Notice of said Election was duly and properly given as required by law and as
provided in the Ordinance calling said Election and that said Election was duly
and regularly held and the returns thereof duly and regularly made by the proper
officials of said Election, and in all things according to law.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the members of the
City Council of the City of Baytown on this the loth day of April, 1963.
