AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE BAYTOWN FIRE
CONTROL, PREVENTION, AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
DISTRICT'S FISCAL YEAR 2019-20 BUDGET; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

WHEREAS, on the 166' day of July, 2019, after considering the proposed budget together
with the testimony and information received at the public hearings, the Baytown Fire Control,
Prevention, and Emergency Medical Services District (the "District") adopted its 2019-20
budget; and
WHEREAS, on the 22"d day of August, 2019, the City Council, after holding a public
hearing to consider the budget adopted by the Board of Directors of the District (the "Board"),
approved the District's 2019-20 fiscal year budget; and
WHEREAS, on the 181h day of August, 2020, the Board approved an amendment to the
District's 2019-20 fiscal year budget in order to reprogram THIRTY THOUSAND AND NO. 100
DOLLARS ($30,000.00) from the contingency/new initiatives (20601-99002) to Elections
(20601-74070) to cover the election services costs associated with the District's November 3,
2020, Continuation Election; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 344.205(f) of the Texas Local Government Code
together with the procedures enacted by the Board for adopting a budget, the City Council must
approve the amendment in order for the same to be in effect; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, after considering the submitted
budget amendment, believes that the amendment approved by the Board is consistent with the
interest of the residents of the District; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That all matters and facts set forth in the recitals hereinabove are found to
be true and are approved by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby approves an
amendment to the Baytown Fire Control, Prevention, and Emergency Medical Services District's
2019-20 fiscal year budget, which amendment is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and is
incorporated herein for all intents and purposes for the District's 2019-20 fiscal year.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by
the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the
City of Baytown this the 31 to day of August, 2020.
