A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, ADOPTING A POLICY REGARDING THE NUMBER OF CITY
BOARDS, COMMITTEES, COMMISSIONS, TASK FORCES, ENTITIES,
AND CORPORATIONS ON WHICH A PERSON MAY SERVE AT ONE
TIME; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby limits the number of
boards, committees, commissions, task forces, entities and corporations (collectively referred to
herein as "Boards") on which a person may serve at one time to two (2).
Section 2: That the limitation established in Section 1 applies only to Boards of the
City to which Council appoints and then only to Council's appointments to such Boards.
Section 3: That in determining the number of Boards on which a person serves, the
following shall be considered to be one Board:
(a) the Baytown Municipal Development District and the Baytown Hospitality Public
Facilities Corporation; and
(b) the Baytown Redevelopment Authority and the Tax Increment Reinvestment
Zone No. One, City of Baytown.
Section 4: That the City Council may override the limitation established in Section 1
by the affirmative vote of a majority of its members.
Section 5: This policy will apply to appointments made by the City Council on or
after the effective date hereof but will not require any person to resign from a position to which
he/she is appointed prior to such effective date.
Section 6: All resolutions or parts of resolutions inconsistent with the terms of this
resolution are hereby repealed; provided, however, that such repeal shall be only to the extent of
such inconsistency; and in all other respects, this resolution shall be cumulative of other
resolutions regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this resolution.
Section 7: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by
the City Council of the City of Baytown.
