CC Resolution No 2200 - SAFER Grant for 9 FirefightersRESOLUTION NO.2200 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR THE FY2012 STAFFING FOR ADEQUATE FIRE AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE MILLION FIFTY THOUSAND THIRTY-EIGHT AND 96/100 DOLLARS ($1,050,038.96) IN ORDER TO HIRE NINE (9) ADDITIONAL FIREFIGHTERS; DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section l: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make application to the United States Department of Homeland Security for the FY2012 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grant in the amount of ONE MILLION FIFTY THOUSAND THIRTY- EIGHT AND 96/100 DOLLARS ($1,050,038.96) in order to hire nine (9) additional firefighters, which will be distributed as follows: First 12-mo - - Second 12-mo - - - - Period l Period Total Personnel $366,153.841 $411,652,80 $777,806.64 Benefits $128,153.84 f $144,078.48 $272,232.32 Total: $494,307.68 ,5555,731.28 $1,050,038.96 Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all purposes under the grant. Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award that may result from the above application.
